<insert preface here>

Nice intro you have there.
The clap/snare thing at needs to shift a few milliseconds later, since it sounds a bit off (in terms of timing).
Never thought I'd say this, but the complex bit needs more wubs. This sounds more electro without those wubs, man.

DjAbbic responds:

The clap/snare is offbeat a tiny amount to make it sound fatter, so it was done on purpose.

Also, not all complextro has wubs. My inspirations, such as Wolfgang Gartner, Porter Robinson and Overwerk do not have wubs in their tracks, yet the track sounds complex.

I know that someone like Mord Fustang uses wubs, and I love it, but when I made this, I was not thinking about wubs at all, mainly because it's was influenced by complextro which had no wubs.

I'll see what I can do to incorporate some wubs in my next track though, and see how it turns out.

Thanks a lot for your review :)

Is it just me, or is the volume on this is pretty low? Bump that up a little.

Pretty cool melody, though you should try to layer it with some other synths.
Lower the bass notes by one octave. Basses doesn't sound nice when played on the higher octaves. ;(
Try putting in a pad (or some white noise) in there. Sounds a little desolate.

But besides that, you have something interesting going on here.

Bloody hell, this sounds menacing. But moving on...

The drums could use some beefing up. Try layering the kicks and snares with something heavier. Also, hi hats.

That vocal clip at around 1:02 is a bit too long. If it was used in the later parts (more energetic parts...if it had any more), then it would probably fit in fine,

The energetic bit could use more energy. Get a low, gritty/distorted bass in there (or if there's already one, fatten that poor skinny fella!). And sometimes the beat skip doesn't sound nice (before the 4-to-the-floor beat).

TL;DR
Hook this track up with the sloppiest couch potato you know and get this sick filth real fat.

KingKilo responds:

Now these are the reviews I like.

You're right, I didn't layer any of my instruments. Would be a smart plan for future tunes!
As for the vocal clip, it's exactly 4 bars, so I thought it would fit right in, but I'll keep that in mind, next time I'm voicing my own music.

As for beefing it up, that's always a good idea if you ask me. Hahaha. The bass'ier the better. ;)

Cheers!

A nice little drum and bass loop. Could use a low, distorted, brooding bass playing a little in the background.

From what I've listened so far, this is more chiptune/video game music rather than drum and bass.

But genre-labeling aside, you have very interesting sounds here.

Oh, wow.
Remember how I said, I wanted to make a drum and bass/drumstep version of this?
Well forget that. I'm gonna go and make a techno/trance/electro mix of it.

And yeah, you goof'd the pads...

A review in hyphensssssss since I'm terrible at writing good reviews.

- The intro is pretty freaky.
- I really like the piano melody.
- dem arp plucks, i like.
- The strings are a nice touch.
- The tempo change kinda put me off the first time listening to it.

Overview:
It's a good song, it has that "distressing" mood to it. Something you'd probably hear in a sci-fi movie/game/flash thing.

GershBeats responds:

thanks for the critique and the kind words! I'll take it to heart - I haven't quite mastered tempo changes in fruity loops :P
